Dedicated to producing quality theatre...

All About Theatre has been offering theatrical training and quality productions to the greater Santa Cruz County community for over eight years now. We focus our energy and creativity on training our students in all the areas of performing arts; dance, acting and singing. We are honored to say that we have produced over 50 full-scale productions with up to 12-piece orchestrations. We have a year round academy of classes and workshops that should appeal to children aged 5 and up, and are working on our classes for adults (coming soon).

YOUTH (8 through 13 year olds):

Anything Goes

The age-old tale of Boy-Meets-Girl and the complications which ensue intrigue every audience, and no musical puts it on stage better than ANYTHING GOES. This show is an amusing story wrapped around one of Cole Porter's magical scores. Two versions of it are available for presentation. The 1962 version and the 1987 Beaumont version are each based on the same story. Both may be accompanied by a piano, a small instrumental combo or a full orchestra. The 1987 Beaumont version has twice as much dance music as the 1962 version, and the orchestration features a shipboard sound derived from the utility band and less-than-ideal acoustics on board. Terrific Cole Porter songs in both versions include It's De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You, All Through The Night, Anything Goes, You're The Top and Blow, Gabriel, Blow. In addition the 1962 version includes Take Me Back To Manhattan and Let's Misbehave. Buddie Beware and Easy To Love are added to the 1987 Beaumont version. It's a wonder that all the romances are sorted out and disaster is averted aboard the magical ship where ANYTHING GOES!

TEENS (13 through 19 year olds):

Urinetown

An earnest tale of love, greed, and revolution. The show is set in a town plagued by a 20-year drought. At the mercy of a single dominating corporation, the destitute citizens must pay towering taxes and fines. Out of the mass of the pitiable, a hero rises to lead his fellow citizens against the tyrannical regime. Drawing from West Side Story, Chicago, and Les Miserables among others, the show irreverently pays witty homage to the great American musical theatre tradition. Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective of one of America's greatest art forms.

Adults (18 year olds and up...):

SPRING AWAKENING - Audition & show dates to be determined...

TEEN UPCOMING AUDITIONS - LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL

Sorority star Elle Woods doesn't take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.
